this is an intriguing thought? should inetd be modified to allow someone
other than (literally) manager.sys to 'use' it. given doug werth's
comments (With inetd, even a user with SM capability cannot kill inetd.
It appears to be hardcoded for MANAGER.SYS. My guess would be that it
started as source from UNIX that was programmed to look for root user (or
UID 0) and chose to replace it with the closest [...]41_3Jul200111:20:[log in to unmask]

If you do not send escape sequences to a printer it uses the default fonts
and set up of that printer. Most printers come with a default of either the
smaller line printer font of 15.67 or a serifed 10 pt font. You can set the
default font and size at the printer level or you can override the printer
defaults with escape sequences embedded in the output. I will warn you that
whatever you want the default of the printer to be, if you override with an
escape sequence in an output file remember to end with an escape sequence
that resets it back to normal.

You can do a print out of the fonts at the printer panel to get the escape
sequence to embed in the documents.

Hope this helps,
Cat

Subject: Printing problem, font size

I hope someone can help me with this. Anytime I print from the HP, the
output is in a small font. The problem is not printer related, because it
is happening on every printer. The files I am printing have no control
characters, just plain old ascii files. I am simply doing a file equation
to the device I would like to print to, then a print ;out=*t, then
altspoolfile to raise the priority. The files we are printing, are form
letters that desperately need to go out. Someone help please.
