While you are "off to see the Wizard," remember you can stop by the Fine
Arts Center for an early bird Patten flier. And don't forget that all
faculty and staff get a reduced subscription rate.

>It's finally ready! The new and improved Allied Arts website is now live
>and ready for your visit. You can search the interactive calendar of arts
>events, post a comment on the guest book, or sign up to volunteer for the
>arts or win free stuff! The site is full of exciting photographs reflecting
>the broad range of arts activities in our community. Please check it out
>and let us know what you think.
>
>Speaking of letting us know what you think, we'd love to know if you
>attended Pops on the River on July 3, and how you liked it. Your comments
>will help plan next year's event. As nearly as we can tell, 25,000 people
>attended and enjoyed the music and fireworks. Congratulations, as well, to
>David Rose of Signal Mountain, who won a pair of tickets to three
>Chattanooga Symphony and Opera concerts in the upcoming season, in Allied
>Arts' jelly-bean-guessing contest.
>
>This week brings its own share of exciting arts events. The Chattanooga
>Theatre Centre opens the fabulous musical review, "Five Guys Named Moe" on
>Friday. The show features the great hits of Louis Jordan, the jazz musician
>who led the way for hundreds of rhythm and blues artists. You'll recognize
>songs like "Caldonia" and "Is You Is or Is You Ain't My Baby," and you may
>even get your own chance to join in!
>
>For more theatre fun, make your way to Signal Mountain Playhouse for a
>delightful romp through the Land of Oz. You may recognize friends and
>neighbors as Munchkins, residents of the Emerald City, and even the main
>characters in "The Wizard of Oz," every weekend through the month of July.
>
>Nighfall celebrates bluegrass this week, with the beloved Dismembered
>Tennesseans opening the concert at 7:00, followed by Nickel Creek at 8:00.
>This young band received 2 Grammy nominations last year-they pick like
>crazy!
>
>Get out of the heat this week at one of our wonderful museums. Lots to see
>and do!
>
>This newsletter is just a brief highlight of what's going on in the arts
>this week. For information on times, locations, and ticket purchasing for
