I suspect he is correct. I just used Telamon's MAIL program to send myself a
page from our 3000 (cell phone number changed to protect the paranoid!) and
used our local email server as the SMTP host:

The message that appeared on my phone (almost instantly, btw) says:

Interesting that it picked up the 'reply-to' address and displayed that
instead of the 'from' address.
