Hi all,

Yesterday, I asked a question on VIEW/COBOL, and got a great answer from
across the "pond"...Switzerland to be exact. It's really neat that our
little hp world spans the globe, and that a willingness to help seems to be
a universal trait (or is it just hp folks that are so willing to
help..naaawww). :-)

Anyway FWIW, the answer to how to get a VIEW NUM3 to COBOL S9(06)V999 with a
minimal effort is...straight from Switzerland:

Hi Ray,

why not simple use the COBOL85 Function NUMVAL ?

Add $CONTROL POST85

Define your field in the V/3000 buffer as X(12).

COMPUTE num3-field ROUNDED = FUNCTION NUMVAL(char-filed)
