Instead of doing a lunch, why not arrange some other sort of get-together
such as a designated 3000-L area at one or both of the HP reception and the
big party event?

The lunches tend to be rather boring IMHO, since you end up only talking to
the ~7 other people who end up sitting at your table, and there isn't much
opportunity to mix with other groups.  It's a tradition that I can't say I
would miss very much (sorry Denys).

Not that I'm planning to go to HP World this year.
