there is no tool that i'm aware of that's designed to do this.  however, the
doesn't mean it can't be done.  imo, you're looking at opening a contract with a
mpe-savy consultant/company.

whoa!  where did you hear this?!?!?  certain older mpe cpu's will not be
supported as of 2002 and some will not be supported after 2006 -- *however* mpe
will be around and thriving long after 2006.

note to hp:  i was afraid something like this would happen.  folks are most
certainly getting the impression that mpe is going away (again?)!

java being java....yes, you can probably 'convert' your transact applicatoin to
java and have it 'run' on hp-ux.  but there are so many 'however's, that some
serious thought needs to be given to the whole project.                - d
