That seemed like a good suggestion, so I did exactly that. My phone call
was promptly answered (after 3 iterations of the 'your call may be recorded'
litany) by someone named Sebastian. I told him I was getting ready to go to
6.5 and could I please get a tape with all the reactive patches. He laughed
and said 'there are hundreds of them', directed me to a nice online list,
and said I should go through that list and choose the patches I want. He
said definitely get MPELXH8 and MPELXH3, but couldn't give me any details re
their function. I looked at the first couple items on the list and had to
ask about unfamiliar acronyms, such as "What's DSO?", and his rather flip
response was "If you don't know, you're not running it." Well, thank you
very much, Sebastian! End of call.

Is that the kind of response I should get from HP Software Support? Does
the fact that I don't know a particular acronym associated with a patch
indicate that it doesn't affect my system?
