Just to qualify that we sometimes use a remote PC connected via
modem using PCANYHERE as a console successfully,

Subject: cntrl-a

Hello. I have a 937 running version 5.5. I've been given the dubious
task of managing this system. I've wanted to reboot the system, but I
can't invoke the SHUTDOWN command from the console because I get
nothing when I type cntrl a (or b for that matter). Is there any
particular account I should be in when trying this? Thanks.
---------------------------------------------------------
Control A and B are have nothing to do with how the console is logged on,
and in fact doesn't need to be logged on. However these commands only work
on the hard wired console, usually device 20. They will not work at the
console set up with the :CONSOLE nnn command.
