MPE message files cannot be accessed from the POSIX API and thus POSIX apps
such as Samba.

However, POSIX does support a special filetype called fifos or named pipes,
which is the same idea as MPE message files.

The mkfifo command is used to create a named pipe; see "man mkfifo" for
details.

I have no idea what Samba will think about named pipes.
