At the time, Cognos tech support claimed it was a problem with VT-MGR and
gave me the FILE STDIN=$NULL work around.
When I attempted to raise this with HP, hoping they would either admit the
problem or give me something to go back to Cognos with, the response was a
complete lack of interest in the problem. It seems that if there is a work
around for a problem HP considers it fixed, no matter how many side effects
the work around causes.
Maybe that is the T-Shirt slogan they need for HP World...
"MPE... if it's broke don't fix it... work around it."
