I recently had the opportunity to see information about the relative
frequency of search keywords used at the Google search engine
(www.google.com).  In comparing the relative frequencies of the terms:

MPE, MPE/iX, HP-e3000, HPe3000, HP-3000, and HP3000

it was interesting to see that less than 1/3 of one percent of people used
either 'e' form of the name, and that for the majority (over 66%) of people
who searched for one of the "3000" forms it's just plain old "HP3000".

So to marketing it may be an e3000, but to the world at large that's
apparently not what comes to mind when they think of one.

Also any 3rd parties who have removed every non-e reference to the 3000 from
their web sites may be missing out on all of the people doing searches for
"HP3000" :-)
