Greetings,
I am having trouble with the name resolution stuff.
I added an entry:
167.141.26.253 Comm947.icjia.gov Comm947
to the HOSTS.NET.SYS file.

I can ping 167.141.26.253 without a problem.
However, the packet is never generated to the destination I.P. address (I
have a sniffer on the source machine). I believe my problem is with this
name resolution stuff.

Is there a utility I could use like PINGNAME Comm947 and have it return the
I.P. address so I know its working.

I have spent the whole day with the operation's manager and he used NETTOOL.
He verified that it doesn't work but we can't understand why. We put in a
call to HP with the error message it generated, but I thought I would bounce
this off the group and see what we are doing wrong.

Thanks and have a great weekend....
