Jonathan Looney, Director of Financial Aid, has received a $2800 contract
from the Tennessee Department of Education to provide a summer internship
program for high school guidance counselors.

The contract will cover expenses for counselors who will spend up to ten
weeks working in UTC's financial aid office.  The counselors will be
trained in all facets of financial aid administration that relate directly
to students making the transition from high school to college or other
postsecondary programs.  The hands-on work in a university financial aid
office can be excellent professional development for school counselors who
advise students on postsecondary admissions and financial aid applications.

Congratulations to Mr. Looney on securing the funding to ensure the success
of this program.
