Next week the library is planning to implement a slightly revised interface for its online catalog.

First, the revised interface will reduce the number of lines in the header of each page from three lines to two. The new interface will replace the buttons on the third line of the current header with text links on the top line of the new header. This will simplify the header and allow more information to be displayed on each catalog page.

Second, the revised interface will add a new Contact Us link near the top right of each page, so users can quickly and easily send the library their comments and suggestions regarding the catalog.  This is a common feature on many service-oriented web sites.

Finally, the revised interface will add a sidebar on the left of the initial catalog page which will include links to frequently visited library pages and popular library lists, including the library newsletter, lists of new books and new videos, lists of various library collections such as audiovisuals, periodicals, and UTC theses. These lists can be sorted by author, title, and call number and are dynamic, meaning that they are updated automatically as new items are added to the library's collections. You can  click or bookmark any of these links and view an up-to-the-minute listing.
