Cynthia,

        These are escape sequences known as PJL that do various things to
the
printer.  You can get a complete list of them from the HP web site.  Your
example below does

27,"E" = <esc>E = Reset printer to default
27,"&l10" = <esc>&l10 = Landscape
etc.

I need to decipher some control sequence codes in some printer
definitions in NBSpool's PRINTDEF program, but cannot find their
definitions in the NBSpool manual. I know I have seen them somewhere
before, but cannot recall where. It seems like it was a book that had
them listed in them. Maybe an HP Laser Printer manual?  My memory isn't
as good as it used to be.

Here is an example of what I'm trying to decipher:

Send before printing : 27,"E",27,"&l1O",27,"&l3A"


Send after printing : 27,"E"

This particular printer definition is supposed to be printing from the
lower tray of a laserjet printer.

Any help with this is appreciated.
