I also noted the large percentage cost increase for the main
conference standard registration this year....   There used to be
a pretty good "cheap seats" option:  The FREE "expo pass (if you
register a head of time ($50 at the door) ).  This year the Expo
pass includes (from Interex web site):

HP World 2001 and eSolutions World Keynote Addresses
HP Plenary Sessions
HP Strategic Sessions
HP Services Classroom
eSolutions World Panels

....  and, of course;  the vendor show...  The HP Plenary and
Strategic Sessions actually amounts to quite a few items;  still a fair
amount of stuff.  But there is one big change from prior years (or
maybe 1999 was the last year this was included in the Expo pass):
You used to be able to attend all SIG meeting in addition to all above
on the free Expo pass.  Now I am pretty sure SIG meeting are
considered just like conference sessions, and the Expo pass will NOT
get you in to SIG meetings...
