Steve,

There's no problem with multi ldevs for a single IP address. ALL the
LaserJet's attached to our 979 have two ldev entries. One for Portrait and
the other for Landscape.

You can apply an environment to a file equation:

FILE DRAFTPRT;DEV=300;env=draftenv.hpenv.sys

Draftenv would be set up to print "****DRAFT****" at the top and then print
whatever else follows.

Are only 'draft' copies printed on this printer from the 3000? If that's the
case, then you could create a setup file with a watermark or something in
NPCONFIG.PUB.SYS for this printer. I am not sure you can have the same IP
address for two different LDEV numbers, otherwise I'd say make LDEV300 and
LDEV301 go to the same IP and use 300 for the drafts. But that could cause
other problems that I am sure the list will comment on
