Well, it's possible to archive the Apache Log files at least under a new
name. This will not harm the analysis via Analog/iX.

By the way, I'm just packaging the Analog/iX 5.0 bundle ... but currently I
have very limited time to bring this to an end.

Basically, having stopped the services the files in question could be
deleted. A good reminder for me as well for Samba/iX because these files
are not used on my site ...

Best regards, Andreas Schnmidt, CSC, Germany

Subject: [HP3000-L] Apache, Samba, JServ, etc log files

Is there a way to empty these log files? Mine go back quite a few months
and are quite big. Can one 'PURGE' these files and expect the
deamon/listener to rebuild them? Is there a POSIX way to empty them? Can
one 'FCOPY' $NULL into them?

examples

/usr/local/samba/var/log.smb
/usr/local/apache/logs/@
