Thanks to all those who answered. The addition of a 'chmod g+rw <filename>'
after the 'mv ...' has fixed the problem.

Subject: HFS Permissions Question

I have an HFS directory with the permissions 'drwxrw----' an owner of
EDI.ECOMM and a group of ECOMM.

A batch job that logs on as BATCH.ECOMM creates a file in the MPE domain and
then uses mv.hpbin.sys to move the file to the HFS domain, eg:

 !setvar edifile 'Windsong_PO_![po_number]_![account]_!document_number'
 !mv.hpbin.sys "/ECOMM/EDI/ORDFILE /ECOMM/EDI/outbox/windsong/!edifile"

Once the file is in the HFS domain it has the permissions '-rwx------' with
an owner of BATCH.ECOMM and a group of ECOMM. I need the file to have the
permissions '-rwxrw----'. Do I have to use chmod.hpbin.sys to change the
permissions each time a file is moved OR is there a way to get it to default
to what is wanted?

regards,
