Harpreet Hi
there are many options here. On most of my customers sites we use Maestro to
schedule, submit system shutdown jobs prior to the backup and bring the
system back for user access at the appropriate time. If you do not have
access to Maestro you basically have 3 options, Sleeper is a pretty sound
albeit simple scheduler for the 3000 and used to be offered free (someone
will correct me here if I am wrong) HP used to offer a product called
'Easytime' that was available at no cost (Don't know if this is still
supported) Easytime has a simple job scheduler but is quite slow in changing
screens, and the final '0' cost option, build the commands into a jobfile
and use the stream [log in to unmask]@;at=time(00:00);day=Monday command
Hope this helps

Cheers

Subject: Auto Scheduled Backup on MPE/iX ver 5.5 with pp7.

Hi All,

Is their any way we can schedule a backup. So before living the office mount
a tape in tape drive. Then backup will start at the scheduled time. Now our
operators are working upto 21:00 and after backup we are running some daily
scheduled jobs. So operators have to wait for up to 23:00.

If it is possible I can save 2 hrs for them.

With Warm Regards

Harpreet Singh Chana
