By default, Windows 2000 does not allow passwords to be unencrypted. You
need to make a change in the registry to allow cleartext passwords. If you
need instructions on how to make the change, let me know or look in the
HP3000-L archives.

Subject: Windows 2000 and HP-MPE Samba
Folks,
today I got a new PC ... now with Windows 2000. My password protected Samba
Shares do not longer work! The other unprotected work like a charm. Any
hint to solve this problem ?
TIA, Andreas Schmidt, CSC
