This is not a terribly elegant solution, but in the absence of anything
better to offer so far: Can 5.06c pick up MPE user or session ids, or
session numbers? I suspect maybe not, if it can't read system variables.
But if it could then you could store parameter info in an image dataset with
user/session id, or session number as the key, and read this from your quick
screen. If someone with a particular user or session id will always want
the same parameter values, then use user or session id as the key. If not,
then write the parameter info to the dataset on the fly with the session
number as key. MPEX would be great for this, but you could always use
query.

Chris.

cannot pass a variable to a lower screen. In my case I wanted to pass the
province PQ, ON BC, etc depending on the dictionary I open. We thought of
identifying the province right in the dictionary as ELE PROVINCE INITIAL
"PQ" for example. Specifying the dictionnary for BC will still display PQ
if SCRENSC was compiled with dictionary of PQ.

SCREEN SCRENSC PASSING TEMPFIELD. It works, but I lose the ability to
choose the database I want to open. I don't have the FUNCTION that extracts
system variable since I am running version 5.06C. Apart from inserting a
DIRECT file into each of my dictionaries and reading the parameter I pass by
doing
