(Disneyland Paris is likely much closer, but that's beside the point. ;)

If it's about US$5 per gallon, $140 would mean 28 gallons.
So either:

   1. you're driving a full-size van
   2. the "cheap" station ripped you off
or 3. you're paying more than $5 per gallon :(

Join the club; Californians dream of that fabled $1.00 per gallon as well.
:/

Oh, and reportedly the Disneyland experience has vastly changed as well.
Not only has the property around Disneyland changed dramatically (and not
necessarily for the better) since the HP-IUG '84 conference (or whatever
it was called then), but the park (or more precisely, the "parking lot")
has changed significantly as well.

The parking lot basically is gone, replaced by "Disney's California
Adventure."
Reportedly, parking is now accomodated by a massive 10-level structure.

You might have a better time at Disney's Magic Kingdom in Florida
(closer to your side of the pond ;) . They have much less traffic,
and more Disney attractions, including the outstanding EPCOT center.

Still, California has much to offer besides Disneyland. But that's
another OT thread entirely. ;)
