Yes there are parallel interface boards for the 256x series printers but they
are very tough to find (and thus expensive).  As a small used equipment
dealer, we get an inquiry a week on these boards but we haven't had one in
stock in months (?).      RS-232 serial is easy and do-able.  A couple people
have posted serial to LAN solutions on HP3000-L and that's what I would
recommend rather than hunt for a Unicorn (aka parallel 256x interface).

PS: Anybody got any parallel 256x printers that they want to SELL????
