Bill,
Very good point. You are correct. To have the backup include the posix
files you would need to use the HFS syntax in the redirect file instead of
the MPE syntax.
Thanx,
Jon

I have a question concerning the approach mentioned below:
If filelist.pub.sys contained only "MPE" accounts, would the backup fail to
store posix directories, such as /bin /etc /lib ? This could be a nasty
surprise to find these directories missing after a reload.

Donna,
I would do a full backup before a hardware conversion but to answer
your
question. I would probably change the store command to read "!STORE
^FILELIST.PUB.SYS;*T;DIRECTORY;ONVS=MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET,SG_APPL_VOLUME_S
ET;PROGRESS=1;SHOW=OFFLINE" and then create a redirect file
(FILELIST.PUB.SYS) with the list of accounts on your system volume and your
SGA account.
print filelist.pub.sys

Subject: Backup
Hi All -
I'm trying to set up a limited backup tonight for a hardware conversion. How
would I change these lines in the backup job so that I could back up all
system files that are on the MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET and only the @[log in to unmask]
files on the SG_APPL_VOLUME_SET instead of all files on the
SG_APPL_VOLUME_SET. These are the 2 lines I would need to change.
!STORE @[log in to unmask]@;*T;DIRECTORY;ONVS=MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET,&
!SG_APPL_VOLUME_SET;PROGRESS=1;SHOW=OFFLINE
Thanks very much for your help!
