At the risk of oversimplifying, I've heard of situations were two such
different connections were both deployed so that, barring catastrophes of
biblical proportions, at least one connection should always work. This also
allows you to experience the realities of both, and decide after the
appropriate interval if one by itself meets your needs, or if one is clearly
a failure.
