Hi everyone,

The thought just came to me that if there is a need, what better group of
people to ask than our UTC Family?

On Saturday, I had the pleasure to meet a Native American family from the
Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota. Several of us from our department
went to a Pow Wow in Lebanon, TN, where we met a Native American dancer in
splendid regalia. We were so taken by him that we began to ask him
questions. To make a long story short... we discovered that he and a
friend of his have left the reservation and are desperately seeking
employment. They have 11 yrs experience doing "framing" and
construction.... dry wall, painting, landscaping, operating a fork lift and
a "Heist". There is NO employment around the reservation and they have a
family to feed. The reservation they come from is extremely poor.

We believe we "may" have a job for them, IF we can get them here to
Chattanooga from Nashville, where they are staying temporarily until
Friday. They are camping in a tent, and have been for the past several
weeks. There are three adults and three small children and the wife is
expecting their fourth child. They're down to their last few dollars and
need help fast. We can't bring them here until we have a place for them to
stay. (Even a place to camp their tent temporarily until we can secure
some housing, would be appreciated.)

Please keep in mind.. they didn't come to me asking for money or any
hand-outs. They just want to work and provide for their family. But they
need a place to stay until they can get on their feet. They're a wonderful
couple and I really hope that someone will have some suggestions or answers
for them, so they can come and interview for this job we believe they will
be able to get.

If you know anything that might help at all... please call me at 755-4411
until 5:00 PM or at my home at 870-3544 after 5:30 PM.

Thank you so much!
