Dr. Steve Symes has received a loan from the Johnson Space Center of the
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) which will make
certain specific lunar materials available to UTC for the next three years.

Dr. Symes plans to use these materials to make scientific investigations of
the chemistry, petrography, abundance, and distribution and sizes of impact
melt particles. Even for research purposes, these lunar samples are highly
secured and exceptionally difficult to obtain. Dr. Symes has been given
discretionary permission to access and maintain these materials for his
exemplary research activities involving crystalline lunar spherules (CLS).

The use of lunar materials will provide opportunities for discovery and
dissemination of information about the Moon, the planets, and the solar
system to the scientific community and to the general public.

Congratulations to Dr. Steve Symes for securing these exceptional research
materials for UTC.
