This time for all Image/SQL and Allbase/SQL users:

If any of these HPSQL items matter to you, now is the time to
contribute your name as a "sponsor";  and write some words
of justification for the SIB:


Item # 12:  Ranked # 1:

Support SQL NULL item functionality in Image/SQL. This is a
major missing feature, when compared to industry standard
RDBMS.


Item # 1:  Ranked # 3:

Ability to limit max number / % of rows / columns returned by
SQL SELECT;  using a SET option or optional parameter on
SELECT statement (MS SQL/Server "TOP dd [%]" equivalent):


Item # 2:  Ranked # 8:

Implement IMAGE database & dataset DBCLOSE from ODBC
/ SQL:  Number of databases / datasets that can be opened at
one time by one process is limited; no way in ALLBASE to
DBCLOSE them when finished.


Item # 8:  Ranked # 9:

More string manipulation and math functions for Image/SQL
and ALLBASE;  such as those available in MPE and COBOL.
Examples: ALPHA, LEN, LFT, LTRIM, NUMERIC, POS, ABS,
MAX, MIN, MOD, LOG, RANDOM.


Item # 5  Ranked # 10:

Allow wild-card ADD USER in IMAGESQL. Suggestion to model
after the wild-card syntax provided for IMAGE remote database
access 20+ years ago.


Especially for last three above, if no takers to champion them
they will fade away for this year;  may not make the SIB in any
case, since they are the bottom of the HPSQL results....
