Size may matter when it comes to disc drives but SPEED also counts. How's
10,000 rpm on a new 18GB drive sound??? Faster rotation equals faster access
pretty much any way you want to look at it. Transfer rate is also an issue
but that will vary primarily with the interface setup.

As a reseller of used drives (I avoid the word "reconditioned" - what does it
mean to a customer?), I'm going to disagree with Stan about the subject of
used drives. It does matter WHO you buy them from and their level of
testing. My age old argument... "Every drive on your system right now is a
'used' drive because you have been using it! - is it a good drive?" - still
applies.
