Absolutely buy bigger disks.

AFAIK, there are essentially no new 4 GB drives on the market. The only ones
we've found have been remarketed drives (and they've had a high failure rate).

If you're worried about the affect of one spindle vs. many for disk I/O,
there's a simple answer: buy more spindles. The price of 9 GB and 18 GB
disks is very low.

Note: I'm not sure you can buy new/unused 9 GB SCSI drives any more, either!

check www.pricewatch.com as one source for SCSI disk drives.
