Subject: [HP3000-L] Setting baud, etc. on 2564b

Could someone advise me on how to set the baud rate and so forth on a 2564B
line printer?

Thanks,
Ted

The 26067B serial interface must be configured for either RS232 or RS422
operation. Check the pins on P2 located near the 25 pin connector.
Pins 2-3 and 4-5 for RS232.Pins 1-2 and 6-5 for RS422. Normally use RS232.
The serial interface uses four configuration bytes to configure the
interface.
These four are function numbers (20,21,22,23).
Normal settings are as follows
 Function-20 = 31 Nulls & Deletes stripped, xon/xoff
Function-21 = 00 Normal DTR operation (always on)
 Function-22 = 51-9600 Baud Rate, CTS ignored,
                       modem status disabled.
     31-2400, 41-4800, 61-19200

    Function-23 = 00 No parity. 03=Odd, 01=Even.

To change configuration do the following...
 1) Take HP2564 offline
 2) Press and hold "CONFIG" key, press "FINE ADJ"
Up or Down to get to the function number you
want to change then release the two keys.
 3) Use the "FINE ADJ" Up or Down to change the
function number setting to the byte you want.
 4) Then press the "ENTER" to save the settings.

Hope this helps,
Stoney Ratliff
