This is great stuff. And you claim to not be a "marketing guy"!?!? HP could
use this slogan as they explain why they're making the changes you propose.

But the question remains: How can we, the HP e3000 Community, help HP?
Judging from past efforts, maybe the question should be:

How do we convince HP that it needs, could use, and should welcome our help?
