Ron Seybold how everyone in California is coping with rolling blackouts?
While I understand that blackouts were rare in California, blackouts are a
part of winter life here in semi-rural parts of Connecticut. After numerous
outages due to downed power lines, blown transformers etc we installed a UPS
and a generator. Needless to say we then had a series of mild winters.

We used to have problems with the 3010 discs not spinning up after a
restart. We never had problems with the newer drives. A 979/200 with 2.4 GB
of memory takes about 15 minutes to restart. Other than an occasional KSAM
Recover we are back in business with in 20 minutes of the shutdown.
