(how about a real mpe question? :-)

hi all!

without resorting to analyzing (grepping?) the output from
ping, is there a way to tell if a ping worked or not?  like
a ci variable or (even a) jcw?  i'm not seeing
anything.....  there's a ping script on denkor's site that
takes the grep route, but i thought i'd check to see if
anyone has come up with anything else.        - d
