When you get a new system from HP, there is generally a little metal part in
one of the plastic bags that no one knows what to do with, and consequently
gets lost of thrown away. This is a bracket that attaches the mounting
posts on an AUI plug, and allows it to be screwed to HP's nonstandard
mounting hardware. I believe they are also included when you get a new NIC.
If you don't have one around, maybe you CE can scrounge one up.

Subject: aui transceivers
hi all!
since i haven't generated enough traffic today (:-), i'll
ask another question....
we had the 'pleasure' (not) of having an aui transceiver
fall off the back of one of our 3000s the other day. in the
case, the transceiver doesn't have the little locking
bracket thingy and so it's simply hanging on the aui port.
our tech tried to tell me that he can't by a transceiver
that fits/screws on to a mfio card. i can't quite believe
this is so. anyone want to disagree? anyone want to give
me a part number? :-) - d
