You are right, you have to use autoinst to go from 5.5 to 6.0, then use
patch/ix for the powerpatch.

I don't know why the user version stayed at C.60.00 for Tracy and me, and
went to C.60.02 for you. However, someone from HP said in reply to Tracy's
message that the only to update the user version is through sysgen, that
autoinst and patch/ix do not update it. Your experience seems to contradict
this, unless there are different versions of patch/ix out there.
