Check to the UDC called HPPXUDC.PUB.SYS. Setcatalog with it and then use the
command SH. This will start the shell for you. Alternatively, you can start
it by

Run SH.HPBIN.SYS; info='-L'

Or

XEQ SH.HPBIN.SYS -L

Beware that from then on, case sensitivity comes into play. Remove the caps
lock.

Kind regards,

Denys. . .

Subject: POSIX - HOW TO

As was suggested by a prominent member of this list we should try to push
the limits of the current OS before whining about what don't have. Toward
that end I am trying to learn how to use the POSIX shell. I am in possession
of the MPE i/X Shell and Utilities Reference Manual. This has a great list
of commands and other help. What it does not tell me is how to invoke the
shell. Is there another manual that has even more basic information,
something like, "Getting Started with POSIX?"

Thanks for any light you can shed.
