I was waiting for an appropriate time to post this FTP related question.
Now, it looks like James Hofmeister came in, replied in bulk and left.
Can anyone elaborate on the "mput" option of FTP? I build a file which
contains a list of files I want to send to an NT server.
It does not appear as though you can specify the *destination file-name*
within the command. Whatever the source name is, that's what the *to* name
becomes. Since I wanted the *TO* names to be appended with a ".TXT" I ended
up kludging the process by creating a "TXT" group, then using MPEX
(repeat...forfiles) to do a bunch of NEWLINKS for the files in the TXT
group. Then the mput sends the list of link-referenced files using mput
^file.
Kind of ugly and will be a puzzle to some poor slob (maybe me in a year) who
comes in saying "what the heck was this guy thinkin'?"
Hmmm. If there's an easier way, I'll blush.
