As I mentioned previously, I have the LynkSys router for my DSL connection.
This is a "residential" line.

The service provider technical support guy got really snippy when, while
figuring out how he had mis-configured my DNS entries (couldn't telnet out -
no reverse lookup), detected that I was using DHCP.

He says "you're NATing.  That's against your service agreement."

I explained that I am using the router to help protect my box.  He replied
again: "You're NATing."

I had only one PC on my LAN.  Now, I understand that at residential prices,
they don't want multiple PCs at home chewing up bandwidth, but after all,
due to the distance to the local office, I only get  standard IDSL speeds.

Why would these people be so upset about NAT?
