I don't think you would want to run GUI apps from the e3000.  It would be
quite slow and you would have to hang X-Terminals or such in order to get it
to work.  You can deploy applets that use Swing components from the e3000 of
course.

See Enhydra at www.enhydra.org.  There has been at least one MPE example
noted on their site and they have a servlet based and EJB version of their
software.  Oh, BTW - it's free.
