Dear HP-e3000 cohorts.
Has anyone out there ever sent PCL escape sequences from MPE to a
LaserJet 4M through Reflection for the Mac?
We have a quiz report that uses embedded PCL sequences to print some of
the headings in boldface. We're using the 'set device control hpslave'
option in the quiz to tell MPE to send the output to the attached
printer. When using Reflection for Windows, we can specify that the
print output is to bypass the Windows print driver, and this causes the
escape sequences to be properly interpreted by the printer. Pretty
standard stuff, but we can't make it work in Reflection for the Mac.
Instead of the boldface text, we get the escape sequences printed before
and after the text that is to be bold. We've tried various printer
setup options, none of which work. The printer is set up to autoselect
between PCL and PostScript, so it should be able to interpret either
language.
Has anyone else out there run into this?
Thanks!
