  Well, just shooting from the hip..."it depends" (tm = Bill Lancaster)...

  For compatibility mode:  

Calendar format dates are easy to subtract...it's getting a non calendar
date into that format...(if the date is YYMMDD format, you can use
YY*512+Day of year)...the YY is actually number of years since 1900, so
you're good until 2027.

  It's getting the Day of year that's the tricky part...

  For Native mode:

Check out HPDATECONVERT and HPDATEDIFF.
