Make sure you contact all your 3rd party software vendors. Frequently, they
are tier priced and key off of your HPCPUNAME and this will change. You may
have to pay your vendors more money when you do this upgrade.
Most can give you licenses ahead of time, though with some you have to call
them during the upgrade.

Subject: [HP3000-L] Processor Upgrade
We are getting ready to install a new processor. This is going to
include a chassis upgrade since we are going from a 969-200 to
979-200.
We currently have two processors and are upgrade to three. Our
current
operating system is 5.57.
This is my first processor upgrade.
Does anyone have any helpful advice to make this transition as
smooth as
possible?
Thanks in advance,
