i'd start with the quest (the nbspool people) since you already work with them.
they may have a solution.  from there i'd try the other 'print solution' vendors
(unispool comes to mind....).  *if* your mainframe folks can ftp their stuff to
you it shouldn't be too difficult to send those files to wherever they need to
go.  you didn't mention how up-to-date your mainframe was (not like ant
specifics would mean anything to me :-) but i know that os/390 (or whatever
they're calling it today :-) supports tcp/ip.  our mainframe folks are using it
-- and (as far as i can tell) rather successfully.  i guess my point is....i
think the days of 'special handling required' for mainframe connectivity are
quickly disappearing.  maybe this will help....       - d
