Yes, the HP3000 FTP server will take commands like
SITE STREAM jobname

From a NT DOS window FTP client, it may be something like

LITERAL SITE STREAM JOBNAME

where the 'literal' part allows the entire command to be
passed on, without processing by the local client.
If going from an HP3000 to HP3000, the literal part is note
needed.

Subject: [HP3000-L] FTP?

I'm lazy today so I want to ask a question that it sounded like Charles
eluded to earlier...

Is it possible to execute a command via FTP on the remote system? If so
how?

What I need to do is send a file, then cause the remote system to do
something on that file before I close my FTP session.
