Hello!

In our porting effort we need an atomic instruction for obtaining a latch
and having other processes in spinlock... On HP-UX we use the ldcw
assembly instruction for obtaining a latch. The problem seems to be that
GNU as does not support ldcw. Is this true? Is there an alternate
assembler that we can use on MPE in the POSIX shell? Does anyone have any
other suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Dan Behman,
