The above snapshot of number of records in each S01, S05 and S06 files are just in a test condition and the actual files are having close to 6500000, 550000 and 400000 records respectively. The above S01 file contains records under Member-Span, S05 contains records of Unique Altpolicy# and the corresponding Member numbers associated with it and S06 file contains the detail of Altpolicy-Span records.
I would like to scan each Altpolicy-Span records from S06 file and determine the corresponding Member-Span records associated with it. The additional condition which I need to have here is that the Member-Spans should be effective for Altpolicy-span records based on the date. i.e. (YMDEFF >= BEGDATE) or (YMDEND <= ENDDATE) or (BEGDATE >= YMDEFF and ENDDATE <= YMDEND). How can I accomplish this in files containing big big records ? Is there any possiblity through LINK or SUPRLINK that I can have this done ? Any one experienced a shortcut solution for these kind of situations before ? I know I can get this done in a step by step analysis by going through each of those files and then doing a Lookup and getting what I need, but I think that is going to be more time consuming and I feel there could be a better way !!
Any pointers, helps, questions, queries, etc are more than welcome in this direction.
Thanks in advance.
Raghu.
