While it is enormously gratifying to see that HP has started to crank up the
ad machine, and actually is running an ad campaign, Tom Emerson illustrates
my contention that we can and have come up with better ad ideas than we are
currently seeing... If and when they start just advertising HP as the brand
and not just its products, maybe they will get interesting, even memorable.

I'm sure that there are reasons why this cannot be done, and were it done,
it could be done better than what I've come up with, but a Visa-style
commercial comes to mind. Stable server platform, $n. A year of electricity
and UPS system, $n. A year's worth of DLT, $n. A year's salary and benefits
for your IT staff, $n. A year's business data, and the understanding that
comes from it; a year of system availability, priceless. Demand a better
computer. hp. invent.
