Then you're simply lucky.

According to the 6.5 Communicator at docs.hp.com:

  The COBOL II/iX compiler was updated to generate code that takes
  advantage of the new 64-bit Millicode routines.

Put another way: On MPE/iX 6.5, COBOL may very well emit code that won't
load/run on MPE/iX 6.0 (or earlier releases).  The key is: when does
COBOL use the new millicode routines?  I don't know!
